As always. the gathering at Charlie’s Pub and Eatery in Edinboro was a lot of fun. The “Folk Revival” playlist was a big hit and took us all on trips down memory lane.

There were fifteen ukulele players in attendance including four visitors from the ukulele group in Warren, PA. Laughter and ukulele playing go together so well. If you weren’t with us this month we did miss you and you missed a good time with great songs.

There are a few upcoming events that I would like you to consider:

May 2 is “Play Your Ukulele Day” – interested in a special get together for this?

June 22 – I have received a request for a group of ukulele players to perform for this year’s Relay for Life. The theme this year is Hawaiian and they would like that type of music. The event is June 22 and June 23, I believe at the CC Fairgrounds. The playing time is most likely during the cancer survivor’s reception. Other than this, I have no further information.

August 19 – They are looking for performers for the “Free Act Stage” at the Crawford County Fair. Any one interested?

Well, it seems like a long time since the group was together but … here we go again.

I thought that we should have a theme for the April 9th songfest so I went with “The Folk Revival” and tried to pick songs that would be familiar and not too difficult.

It’s hard to limit the number of great songs from that period but I did not want to overwhelm you with 752 new songs. Take a look at the song list for the seven new titles that were just added. Print them out and give them a try. There should be YouTube versions of all of those songs but not necessarily in the same key, but it’ll give you an idea of how a song goes.

I hope to see a lot of people out on the 9th. Bring a friend.
