June Get Together on June 9
The next regularly scheduled NWPA Ukulele Get Together is on Wednesday, June 10 from 6:30 – 9:00 at Charlie’s Pub and Eatery in Edinboro. Let’s make this Hawaiian Shirt Night.
I am also pleased to announce that we have scheduled two more slo-jam type gatherings for people who would like to work on building their skills, for new players and anyone who would like to try a ukulele for the first time. These will be held once again at Martha and Dave Karle’s home. The first will be on June 25 and the second on July 16. Please e-mail for details and to RSVP for either or both of these events.
Several people have asked about getting T-shirts in our current design. Please e-mail me if you would like to order a shirt so that I have an idea of quantity, can get a current price and an approximate turn around time.
NWPA Ukuleles has been invited to play for the Relay for Life “Survivors Dinner at the Crawford County Fairgrounds on June 27 at 5:00pm and also at he Crawford County Fair in the week of August 23 (date to be announced). There will be an extra practice session for each of these events for those who are interested in participating.

April 14, 2015 – LOTS OF UKULELE FUN
April 14 – Ukulele Night at Charlie’s
Song List for March 31
Just a reminder of our Bonus Ukulele Night on March 31 at Charlie’s Pub and Eatery in Edinboro from 6:30 – 9:00.
I have chosen this playlist because most of the songs are pretty easy 2 & 3 chord songs that will give everyone a chance. The more accomplished players can be working on improving their rhythm while the rest of us work on improving chord changes. And all of us work at having fun!
The last four are songs that I’d like to have the group use for performances pieces if and when we have performances.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on March 31 at Charlie’s from 6:30 – 9:00
Camptown Races
Clementine
Down in the valley
Father’s whiskers
Hound Dog
I wanna be a dog/cat
If you’re happy and you know it
Itsy Bitsy Teenie weenie
Jambalaya
Old Dan Tucker
Red river Valley
It Ain’t gonna Rain noMore
She’ll be coming around the mountain
You can Count on me
Bring me Sunshine 3
The Lion Sleeps Tonight
Somewhere Over the Rainbow/It’s a Wonderful World
Bonus Fifth Tuesday Get Together – March 31
March 10 Get Together – What a hoot!
Dense fog couldn’t keep everyone away, we still had about twenty strummers even though warmer weather brought foggy condititions to our area.
We played a bunch of Irish songs and other tunes from our song list to get everyone warmed up for St. Patrick’s Day. Lots of fun and laughter and a bunch of great pictures from Judy Dalaba and Cal Robinson.
This group of players is the best, always enthusiastic, grinning and playing away. We do have us some fun on Ukulele Night!
March 10 Get Together – Maybe a few Irish Songs
Our regularly scheduled Get Together for March will be at Charlie’s Pub and Eatery in Edinboro, PA from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. We’ll start as usual with some easier songs and then move on.
In preparation for St. Patrick’s Day, an early “wearin’ of the green” as it were, we will play many of the Irish songs from our Songbook Vol. 1 and we’ll throw in a few of the newer songs from the new songs list.
Looking forward to another great gathering of ukulele players to sing and strum and just have a bunch of fun. We’d like to hear what you are working on for your own enjoyment, so practice up for and open mic time.
Here is a list of songs to get us started for the evening and we’ll go with player choices after that. These are in no particular order.
It Ain’t Gonna Rain No More
She’ll Be Coming Around the Mountain
Hound Dog
If You’re Happy and You know It

You Can Count on Me

February 10 Get Together
Once again, a great time was had by all in attendance at our regular get together on February 10. There were a few new players, a lot of smiling faces and lots hooting and hollering. It doesn’t get any better than this.
There were some more children to help this group stay young and challenged and there was lots of mentoring going on. Paul and Mike did their rendition of “Mac the Knife” for the group, it was excellent.
World Ukulele Day
With temperatures in the single digits and more than three feet of snow on the ground these intrepid ukulelists made it out to celebrate World Ukuele/Groundhog Day.
As can be easily seen in this picture we have several very young members in our group now which helps to keep the groups’s median age lower. Good!
Our next regularly scheduled get together is on Tuesday, February 10. Hope to see you there.
